I have never seen so much rain in my life.

Torrential downpour. Dumping buckets. If it had been raining cats & dogs, they would have been tigers and great Danes.

I remember sitting there, staring out the window and thinking “WHAT THE HECK is this weather and what happened to my tropical vacation?!?!”

Fortunately, there was a short break in the crazy weather. The eye of the storm. The middle of a hurricane with “stay in your room” warnings and people scattering. As a photographer, in that situation there is only one thing you can do: grab your gear and head for the ocean.

I had some amazing friends on vacation with us- and they were up for the challenge. We headed to the beach to catch some waves and take a few photos before we got shut in our rooms for the evening. Graham and I even got a photo of ourselves! (NEVER happens… drawbacks of the job…)

They say a friend will go with you anywhere. Well, a GREAT friend will drink tequila and hit up the hurricanes with you! Thanks for the amazing vacation Sam & Alison! Can’t wait for the next one!
